In Seattle I live with in daily view of a great mountain (Mount Rainier). The mountain can be seen from almost everywhere in Washington State. I am currently making a series of wood block prints of Mount Rainier inspired by the great Ukiyo-e print maker Hokusai of Japan (1760-1849). Hokusai made a series of images of mount Fuji called “36 views of Mount Fuji” and I have begun “36 views of Mount Rainier”. |
